Washington, DC

Stanton Architecture, in partnership with the Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group, won the competition hosted by the United States General Services Administration for the adaptive re-use of the original US General Post Office Building (commonly known as The Tariff Building). Our distinct architectural design converted this over 170 year old National Historic Landmark into a new 180-room luxury hotel known as the Hotel Monaco. Stanton Architecture recognized the potential of this formerly under-utilized facility through an innovative and significant renovation.
