Sacramento, CA
This 5-story, 106,400-square-foot hotel project will be branded as a 146-key Marriott Element Hotel, and is designed to serve as an extended-stay hospitality option for the adjacent UC Davis Medical Center. The project incorporates adaptive reuse of a portion of an existing, abandoned Coca-Cola bottling facility to support public functions. The hotel will also feature 166-spaces of surface-level parking, food and beverage options, enlarged fitness and wellness spaces, meeting rooms, and an outdoor pool. The hotel is expected to open early 2027.
A key architectural feature is the channel glass facade at the corner of Stockton Boulevard and Miller Way. This design element provides a lightweight transition from the existing bottling plant into the new construction while adding verticality to the design to offset the horizontal emphasis of the floor plates. The channel glass feature also brings natural light into the single-loaded top-floor corridor at the Miller Way setback, while preserving privacy, and is a focal point for guests as they use the elevators.
